Dr. Romeo Wahome is a passionate emergency and critical care specialist with a strong focus on trauma management and post-accident response. As the Head of the Trauma Centre and ICU at Makindu District Hospital, he has been at the forefront of advancing trauma care in Kenya, leading initiatives that emphasize a holistic approach to emergency medicine and patient recovery. With over a decade of hands-on experience, Dr. Wahome has trained more than 500 emergency care professionals across Kenya and mentored clinicians in Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Rwanda. His teaching engagements have also extended to Europe and the United States, sharing practical insights that bridge global best practices with local realities. A published researcher and advocate for improved emergency response systems, Dr. Wahome continues to contribute to the development of trauma response frameworks and ultrasound utilization in emergency settings across East Africa. At the East African Public Transport Expo & Leadership Forum, Dr. Wahome will join the third panel session on 19th November, where he will share expert insights on trauma response and post-accident management — an essential conversation aimed at improving safety and saving lives on our roads.
